Oh yeah..
2.) To not yell "Party Wave" but once a day....and to Abide by those who do....
3.) To think of something clever to say to The Hordes who ask : "Isn't it cold in the water.....How Cold is it? ", "Are you guys going to have fun today?"...."What do you call those things?" "Is the surf good?".....or maybe just to Abide by it all

Ron is right. I got to get off the couch and paddle.
Perfect conditions for a Bass River SUP run this afternoon. 2PM at West Dennis Beach if anyone is interested in joining.
Happy New Years to all.

Nauset is looking good for micro surfing today.
If there is a hint of S for tomorrow, Kalmus has got my attention.

Thanks for the motivation Ron.
I did get up off the couch and while the Pats were loosing 21-0 I decided it was time to paddle.
Launched at West Dennis by the big pipe. (What is that anyway?)
Almost no current and very little wind. All me this time. Gorgeous day, saw hundreds of the little cold water, white head ducks, and some big swan.
I couldn't believe it was Jan 1. I was sweating my ass off in a loose drysuit. Even had to take my hat off exposing my bald head to cool down.
Under Rte 6 where last time under was like a rapid, was calm and I stood to paddle right thru it.
1:14 total. 5.4 miles. average 4.36 mph.
It is a lot more work when you dont get the current flush! Great workout.
When Jean picked me up at Follins, she said the Pats were winning. So we got that going for us.
Happy New Year to all.

Well Ed - I'm humbled to be blessed
3 years ago my resolution was to swear less and surf more. WTF, I accomplished half that one.
2 years ago, my resolution was to surf better and dabble into the dark art of SUP on an old windsurfer; pretty much got that one done.
Last year, was to be like the big boys, on Team Abide, and learn to SUP surf. Didn’t, and may not, get to their level of proficiency; but had fun trying.
The fact that I kicked off this year with a bonafide (but on the small side) surf session means that I’m on the right track. The new year started at my old haunt, Nauset’s SP4, with a local sailing (kiter) buddy who’s also getting into SUP. 3 other guys mixing up prone and SUP made for a nice little group.
As far as the Pats, once home I started the DVR at 14-0; what a nail biter at first. No better way to end the day than with an additional workout in the basement, zipping through commercials and keeping half an eye on my son’s extreme scootering session.
With over 75 days of surfing (wind, wave and SUP), plus devoting one session to surfing and getting some rides of my daughter’s short board, plus a ton of flat water paddling with family, friends and new friends, plus each of my kids had a couple of good days on the water, plus my water-shy wife even snagged a near chest (for her at 5’ zip) high wave things went pretty well.
This year’s resolution, hopefully less yelling at the kids!!!!!
