I agree with your assessment of Pete and Windsport. Derek from Delta Windsurf is great as well.
Peter at New England Windsurf Journal does a brilliant job !
I would much rather support BOTH and all THREE magazines, and glean the extra content. _________________ K4 fins

That actually was the strangiest thing to me. Even right after renewal of my subscription for other 2 years, I was still getting offers to subscribe for the magazine. THose were coming quite often. Better control over this could probably save them some.
Anyway, it is sad news. It was very enjoyable to read each issue. Good luck, guys!

Sad news but not totally unexpected, just sign of the times...
with Internet blogs, forums,magazines, etc...,
we're getting information in different ways now plus advertising revenue is shrinking due to competition from different sports, world economy , etc..
Keep up the stoke at local level, help a newbie, this is still the best sport ever! |

This question deserves a bump.
It's still there now, which is great, but will it continue? |

Word is getting around, and I wanted to be the one to tell the iWindsurf community.
WINDSURFING magazine will be suspending publication for the upcoming year.
There's still quite a few details I'm not sure about, and our team is still quite a bit in shock.
I'm sure there will be a press release next week. We've spent this week telling our advertisers and contributors. (Sorry if we haven't gotten to all of you yet - there's a lot!)
It's been a great run. We are part of an amazing community, that I'm sure will continue, even without the magazine. Windsurfing will always be the most incredible sport in my world, and, I'm sure, yours too.
I'm not sure what the future holds for me yet, but I will continue to be a member of this community, and continue to be on the water with you guys.
I'm off to the mountain for some decompression and get my mind off the thing. Will check back later.
All the best in the wind,
Josh Sampiero |

Josh, I'm troubled by the loss of Windsurfing Magazine, f.k.a. Wind Rider. You really turned the corner from an editorial perspective and deserve to feel proud of your great work. Too bad Terry et al failed to see its value. I suspect that if the subscription price had quadrupled and the mag returned to a monthly as it was back in the heyday, your subscription numbers would've increased, having a net positive for ad revenue.
I also want to thank you on behalf of US Windsurfing. With your help, US Windsurfing members received a free (to them) subscription as a direct member benefit. That value will be missed by all.
You will land strongly on your feet! _________________ Support Your Sport. Join US Windsurfing!

I am so upset!!! I look forward to every issue!!! Maybe you can do a website, its much cheaper than producing a magazine. Hopefully, you could get Robby, Josh Stone, Josh Angulo, and Levi to help out!!! Good luck and don't give up cause windsurfing is the coolest sport ever!!!!
