WTF people, talk about a thread hijack. Let's rather talk about capitalism and why it should be our religion.

So...how is capitalism going to survive the onslaught of seniors demanding their entitlements? It is going to be very difficult to tell us to go out and get a job.

It will take leaders who aren't afraid of losing their power to inspire Americans to embrace reality. History has shown us time and again that people (mobs) will gravitate toward receiving something for nothing. At OWS, well intentioned folks were cooking fine meals and doctors were providing care, but eventually every mooch who wanted something for nothing showed up and the whole thing just collapsed.

Simple answer? Insist on moral behavior by business, polititians, and people. How? No more loopholes, no more lobbyists, end welfare as we know it, all at once. Repatriate offshore money, flater tax, gradually increase SS age, reduce regulations, and teach morality in our schools. We need a leader. A leader who can inspire and educate. After all, in every successful enterprise, there is a leader.

Here is a video that I sent to my daughter after she graduated from Berkeley and had gotten (what I felt) was a very high paying job for a young woman. She was so upset that she couldn't make ends meet with a salary that was 50% above the national average. (as a 21 year old with no debt) We laugh about it 3 years later...

Oh, the horror! He should be put to death.

Seems that a third woman has come forward.

She's probably the same height, too.

Where are these "women"? but back to the subject at hand.

Today: Incomes are still falling, yet consumer spending is up. This means people are still borrowing to live. This is not capitalism, because there have to be consequences for bad behavior for capitalism to work. Exact reason we should have let the bankers implode.

Capitalism, tempered by social conscience (taking care of the old, and those unable to cope without help) is the most successful experiment the human race has ever devised. Those who imagine otherwise are crackpots!

Remove the work ethic, however, and we end up in todays mess.

Back to politics I guess. Looks like the liberal media is too dumb to know when they are being used.

Nope. If we can clip two candidates with one story we will do it all day, which we've done. Now, lets focus on Mittens, the man who invented ObamaCare...shall we ?

Captonian--I get the opposite message. The press, the right, and the left have all jumped on this story with a sense of certainty--well before the facts are in. We have a recent history where the truthful Anita Hill was savaged by the right, who will do anything to get one of their candidates in. She was willing to testify in public, and was backed by at least two others who substantiated the essence of her story, yet Thomas was appointed anyway. Here we don't know if there are nuisance lawsuits, or a pattern of behavior that might be inappropriate, even if not amounting to sexual harassment.

The real story is the utter incompetence of Cain to manage a story like this, much less the Administrative Branch, or relationships with Congress and the press. He just can't seem to get the story straight.
