Just another of Obama's hundreds of lengthy and unwarranted vacations that cost unemployed American taxpayers $200M per day and require 35 warships to circle Martha's Vineyard keeping the illegal immigrants from the mainland away.

Such a waste, having the Secret Service walk the golf course. And to make matters worse, those ungrateful kids are eating ice cream.

This issue shouldn't surprise or confuse anyone. According to law professor Wendy Murphy, 70% of the people receiving free health care in Mass are illegal aliens. It's part of Gov Patrick's far left agenda to boost the number of Democratic votes at any fiscal, moral, and body count cost.

You get your news from a comedian?

From the Boston Herald:
"Illegals’ medical bills top $35.7M
Taxpayers hit hard for trips to ER
By Jessica Van Sack

Chief Enterprise Reporter
Jessica Van Sack is an award-winning journalist and the Herald's chief enterprise reporter. A graduate of Boston University, she interned in broadcast news in Europe and covered South Shore towns before joining the Herald. She works out of the State House where you can send tips to jvansack@bostonherald.com.

Beleaguered Bay State and U.S. taxpayers coughed up a staggering $35.7 million this year in free emergency health care for more than 52,000 illegal aliens in Massachusetts, sparking outrage from candidates and critics who back a tougher line on immigration. The figures — released by Gov. Deval Patrick’s administration under an order for the Secretary of State’s office and after more than a month of ducking questions — show illegal immigrants who belong to MassHealth Limited received $33.8 million in taxpayer-funded in-patient hospital care this year."

"Illegal immigrants cost Massachusetts taxpayers $38 million a year
October 27, 2010
by Steve Dennis

When the healthcare reform bill was being debated in the Congress it was said that Massachusetts’ healthcare system–which mandates that all residents buy healthcare insurance–was the model that the national bill was based on. If this is true than I think it is fair to look at how effective the Massachusetts law has been in order to predict or determine how the national bill law will perform.

To do this I would like to juxtapose two stories that have been in the news in Massachusetts recently. The first story comes from the Boston Herald and it is about how much the taxpaying residents of Massachusetts are paying to provide healthcare benefits to illegal aliens. According to a report that was grudgingly released by the Deval Patrick regime, illegal aliens have cost the taxpayers of Massachusetts nearly $37 million this year alone!

These illegal aliens are enrolled in a program called MassHealth Limited at taxpayer expense, this is not a case of illegal aliens receiving free healthcare because they use the emergency room as a doctor’s office for routine visits as we are told is so often the case. The costs of the emergency room visits of illegal aliens were not included in this report; emergency room visits cost the taxpayers of Massachusetts an additional $2 million.

One of the arguments used for allowing illegal immigrants access to healthcare benefits was the fact that taxpayers are paying for the healthcare of illegals because of the way they use the emergency room, so in the long run it would be cheaper. But let me ask you this: what difference does it make whether the taxpayers pay for emergency room visits or for the illegal immigrants’ healthcare? There is no difference because the taxpayers in Massachusetts are the ones getting screwed either way. These illegals are not paying for their own insurance, it is being given to them–that is not what the original intent of the law was according to the bill of goods the taxpayers were sold. The report states that nearly 70% of the people who are enrolled in the MassHealth Limited plan are in fact illegal aliens, how is the burden of the taxpayer supposed to be reduced with such a large number of illegals still getting free healthcare, albeit from taxpayer funded insurance rather than from taxpayer funded emergency room visits?"

Jon Stewart is funny, but I hate to break it to you that he's a comedian, not a journalist or a law professor.

Point is...Wendy Murphy is a conservative mouthpiece who, regularily, exagerates, twists and distorts facts. As does Jon Stewart, of course. We just don't believe him.

No shit, sherlock. The plan is DESIGNED for those whose immigration status prevents them from getting health services otherwise.

Now, what would be more beneficial to Massachusetts residents: refusing emergency room care until a patient can produce proper documentation, or turning these illegal immigrants into tax payers?

Sad to see such inability to parse simple information yet willingness to jump at any occasion when baited by vote hunters who obviously troll the bottom of the barrel...

Let's speculate that last year, there were 2 million felony crimes in the US.

Let's speculate that there were 50,000 felony crimes committed by illegal aliens.

What is better, 2 million felony crimes or 1,950,000?

These number are out of thin air, just to make a point.

Bottom line - we have the laws, but the government chooses not to enforce them so we just have to live with the extra crime. Is there any reason some of us shouldn't consider this an injustice?

That's utter nonsense. There is no causal correlation between illegal immigration status and felony crime just like there is no causal relationship between legal immigrant or citizen status and the other 98% of all felonies.

A meaningful statistic would be the general increase of crime through illegal immigration.

Also, how does the government not prosecute illegal immigration?

Lets put the Mass health care for illegal immigrants program into perspective here. $37 million - 6.5 mil residents Less than $6. per person. Total US Govt. furnished health care (Medicare, Medicaid etc.) - nearly $800 Billion. Nearly $2500 per person. Now, where should we concentrate on saving tax dollars?

We don't know who these illegal people are.

We don't care who comes into our country.

We allow men from cultures that allow female genital mutilation, stoning rape victims, make women wear veils, won't issue women drivers licenses, but we allow those same men from those cultures to enter our country.

I thought 10 years ago that when 911 happened that we would finally close our borders instead of going to war. How wrong that was.
