A personal record may be broken, that is, the 21 days stretch of consecutive sailing that I recorded in Arenal in 2005.

Right now, it's 19 days in a row, tomorrow looks good, but Sunday looks tricky, I may have to count on the Viento Effect.

Wish me luck. Wink

GuyT, maybe if I got well and got back in shape, stopped
Drinking tequila and beer and stepped back in time to when
I vacationed a month in the gorge and sailed all day except for
Lunch.... I might beat your numbers for a month.
Hope to see you on the water next year my friend. If my body allows.
Brent.

Well Brant, if I started drinking again, I would beat you on that for sure! Wink. Looking forward to see you next year.

Today was day 20, 42.7 miles of 7.4 m2/125L at Viento.

Tomorrow looks pretty lame, so I think my the 21 days record at Arenal is out of reach, no point in calling ESPN.

My only consolation is that my topic beat in terms of views Westender's `Lawnmowers Please`.

Not bad for a lawnmower, eh?

Wink

This image will haunt me for the rest of my life:

This is what Stevenson got on the 4th of August, the only wind The Gorge got that day.

I could have sailed for at least an hour, the minimum time for me to a call it a windsurfing day. From 4h30 till 6, could have been on a 6.6, maybe a 5.9

It would have equalled my 21 day stretch of wind obtained in Arenal in 2005.

And today would have been my 29th day in a row of sailing.

But I didn't sail that day.

Because I was not at the right time in the right place.

But on the positive side, I still have a goal in life: beat that 21 days stretch. But that is what my Life Coach thinks.

I would prefer to have a better Forecaster.

If it makes you feel any better I have gone to Stevenson's on days when it is showing 20. NOBODY was out cause it was too light. So I don't even care about Stevenson's until it hits 22. That sensor just doesn't represent what is on the water till it hits 22 or more.

On the other hand you have a 7+ meter sail right?? Laughing

Ok, here they are, the official Guyt statistics for The Gorge 2013 Very Happy

Spend 96 days in The Gorge, from May 21 to August 24.

Windsurfed 79 days, that is 82% of the days here.

A good year for me? Below average, I would say. Of course, July was great, but June was deceiving and August had mostly moderate winds.

If I classify days from Nukin to No Wind, depending on the smallest sail I used that day, here's what we get:

And more specifically the boards and sails I used, calculated from the amount of time on the water:

So that's is for the numbers, looking forward to see you all next year. My last thoughts will for all my fellows lawnmowers:

"In the end, the chop you take is equal to the chop you make"

DUDE!!! So sorry to see you go. I'll miss ya! But with a dinged board and fall type weather for the immediate future I can't say I blame you for bailing. Safe drive home and I'll see ya next year...

The worst part about that dinged board day at Rowena (what a bad day for wind) was the next day at The Hatch, where they had it good. You wouldn't believe the bunch of Wazones that hit me hard with the usual:

"Where were you GuyT, it was so good here, wazon a 4.7, could have been a 4.2"

Ten Wazones in a row, I tell you.

And believe it or not, I am still in the Gorge. De-camped from Viento this morning, last thing to do was to pick up two paid wetsuits at Promotion.

I couldn't believe it! They are closed on Sundays. Can't they work 7 days a week like every body else in Hood River? Don't they have mortgages to pay?

So, since it was out of question that I re-camped at Viento in that lousy temperature , I ended up in a 90$ motel room in HR, so I can pick up my wetsuits tomorrow morning.

I am seriously considering a law suit against Promotion.

Where is Isobars?

That does add to the price of those wetsuits, dang it. I have on occasion
been frustrated by the lack of retail commitment in Hood River. My
experience is that most of the small business owners (and some of
the large ones), have structured their lives in a way, that their
mortgages don't require a 7 day work week.

;*)
