So I'm going to St. Maarten in a couple months. I REALLY want to try windsurfing but everyone is telling me that it is extremely difficult, especially in a 1 week vacation. However, I found out that I can get 3 hours of lessons one day, then the next day go on a day trip to Anguilla to windsurf all day, but on the day trip there is no lesson, there is only assistance. If I have a 3 hour lesson the day before, would I be able to go the next day from 9am to 4pm? I'm not looking to do tricks or anything, I just want to get going.

post this in the general section or southwest and you'll get a better responses. Is the second day from shore and off a reef without shore break? yes you could be ready but not to be out in open ocean w/o supervision you'd need a life guard, instructor and or help.

Go for it Ry!

The first day 3-hour lesson will be a great start.

You might not be ready to do day 2 on your own, but you will have started windsurfing! And maybe you can arrange day 2 to actually be a lesson. But if not, don't worry. Do day 1. Start windsurfing!!

It's all good..Who is teaching you in Anguilla? I go there often and could never find gear. My friend lives there and has his own but there are no rental shops. I did find a guy in St. Martin who offered to rent me stuff and ship it over to Anguilla but I passed. The wind is iffy in Anguilla. Lovely place. See my blog http://www.bonairecaribbean.com/blog_anguilla.html to learn more about Anguilla. IMHO kiting there is a good sport...
