Sailed Roosevelt all day on 6/2/11. At 10:30 the air and water had the same temp (55). Quite cool. But the wind was on. Sailed 10:30 - 3:00 (not constantl) on a 4.2 and either a 86 or 77 liter board (could have made a 3.7 work). Some good swell but a lot seemed disorganized to me (and some of the regulars said the same). Some big swell over at the entrance to Arlington....

Sun finally came out as I left (3:30) and warmed up to 70 degrees....

The terrain and wind were definitely on the harsh side, but any time one sail is optimal from 7 'til 7 is OK by me. We hoped the wind would pick a direction and a speed as evening approached, but that was not in the cards. About the only change was when the swell would set up big for a short time, then move or just disappear until it emerged again there or somewhere else. I'd still call this early spring sailing, not summer wind, due to the gusty and fluky nature of these frontal blasts.

Looks like the video got a little squished in the upload to YouTube... oh well... it still showed that it was a windy day and you rocked it out there! Nice little vid!

Yeah, I was trying the more vertical setting not sure it is the best setting? And it got more compressed on upload, vimeo might be a better site. Was asked by a couple people to post so they could see the day. Hope you have a good year, looks like out east is still the call....for now.

This just sits in the cue. I am going east today. Wish you all good wind and smooth swells.

Rosy,3.7 dark and choppy. Not too cold but big range. Still fun but this could be it for me.
