I was knocked down on the rocks and have a four small cuts/gouges in the red neoprene on my Chinook carbon fiber boom. Typically, on my old aluminum booms, I'd use small pieces of neoprene to fill in... use contact cement & sand it smooth. It worked great.
Does any one know if that method will work on the carbon fiber boom? The boom was perfect. Any advice will be appreciated. I want to fix it myself & before spring sailing starts. |

IF the boom is undamaged, I can't see why the grip couldn't be fixed the same way as usual. I'd want to be dang sure the boom isn't dinged, however; that outer perimeter is under a heavy tension load when sailing.
