"Updated 10-16-10 5:30 am" The Cape Cod Wave Challenge is officialy on for this weekend Oct. 16th. It currently looks like today Sat. the 16th is the call and Corporation Beach on the North shore in Dennis the place.
It is side on wave sailing so not true down the line but good for open clew riding and a great place for jumping.
Hoping to run the first heat around 1:30 pm The wind looks like it will build all afternoon and so should the swell.

I would be happy with 1/2 of the forecast.
If the forecast really happens it will make the last Nauset day seem like a day at WD.
Swell models are looking like 15'.
Ron if you are going to watch you may as well be a judge.
I think the judges get free beer. if that helps

In the last couple of years, I've settled on one word, YIKES, for all out of control situations.
LONG TERM:::::
FRI
N WINDS 25 TO 30 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 KT... DIMINISHING
TO 20 TO 25 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 KT AFTER MIDNIGHT. SEAS 8 TO
11 FT...SUBSIDING TO 6 TO 9 FT AFTER MIDNIGHT. RAIN LIKELY.
SHOWERS LIKELY THROUGH THE DAY. PATCHY FOG THROUGH THE DAY. VSBY
1 TO 3 NM THROUGH EARLY AFTERNOON.
SAT
N WINDS 25 TO 30 KT...BECOMING NW 30 TO 35 KT. GUSTS UP TO
45 KT. SEAS 7 TO 10 FT...BUILDING TO 9 TO 14 FT. A CHANCE OF
SHOWERS.
I'll be honored to judge and guard the booze.
For me, it would be even better to get a bay side session starting at 9:30ish then dry off and head across town. With a high tide at 7:30, it would be similar to how things went down on Thursday.

JE used the "epic" word 5 days in advance.....should be perfect.

I said "IF" the forecast holds true it could be epic. I did not say it would be epic which is a sure wind/wave jinx!!!
Hey it is what it is. It's a long way out as far as Forecasting in NE goes.
"Just try and stay calm ok!!!!"
So here is the plan as far as locations dictated by wind direction.
This is a Real World wave event. It could be side-off down the line but most likely not. We will see.

Looks like its going to be Corp according to tonight's model solutions. great venue for viewing the action, and the place kicks when gale force is on. And it's my closest beach
Head of the Meadow too far and you need a chase boat, so its out.
any Corp pics/video from this time last year, anyone????

No chase boat needed at head of the meadow.
It is a similar break to Nauset.
NW is side shore from the left
Equally good viewing as there is a high bluff looking right down on the action.
Just a longer drive.
And it requires a ground swell. Not looking like that will happen.
Corp will be side on. Not the best for wave riding. if it is really blowing it will be an ariel free for all.
Corp we need all the windsurfers we can get to keep the kiters out of the zone.
Does not matter where it will be fun to jump and slash.
