it was great to see so many stoked sailors at Corp. I never counted but maybe 25 people out for most of the time between 12 and 4.
I can not believe that it blew so hard all day.
Most out on 4.2M some 3.7 and a few a bit larger.
Waves improved through out the day. With some good size head high or better and super smooth late in the day.
Very Euro conditions side on wind and port tack out. Great for some big jumps. Tough to get a solid wave ride.
As JE says everone was a winner.
There are some really good sailors out there.
Not often that we have a chance to watch each other sail.
I think it would have been difficult to name a true winner.
Amoung the top JE, outcast, Jeff from Dux, Larry, Don, Brad and Canada guy from ME. Bill Reid although I had a short glimpse of him on the water looked like he had potential
The rest of the field were also very capable. Mike L, Antione, Matt Z, Matt E, Surge.
Every one else just out tearing it up or too spent from sailing. Many on the water for 3 hours before we even started the comp. |

Here is my humble attempt to show how impressive the event was yesterday. It was almost impossible to control my camera in such wind and being sand blasted at same time. I will post another video latter. Hope you enjoy it !
PS. select HD 720P on youtube for best quality.

"Humble attempt" my butt! Nice work Claudio!
You really captured the stoke, in HD no less! Thanks so
much for taking the time to film, while the rest of us were
goofing off on the water.
Reminds me of 20 years ago, when a Fall NW would draw 50 people to
Corporation. Looks like you guys had terrific conditions. congrats to
those that put it together and everyone who participated.
Perfect day!

Awesome SCORE up there guys!!
Great to see a FUN strong turnout for a "grassroots" wave sail challenge/gathering! That spot is definitely the US East Coast "Pozo" with conditions seen there! Aka, wind and surf!
Sweet to see the strong oceanside windsurfing stoke up there too! Looked like there were more people out on the water than even our busiest wave sessions here in Hatteras!
Fun times!
Bill
PS: While you guys were ripping up there on 4.2m, I was down here (I say "I" since it appears I was the only wavesailor out anywhere in Hatteras yesterday) just north of Oregon Inlet riding the SeaLion with the 4.5m in 15 to 22 mph side off NW wind. Definitely a fun sesh (that SeaLion is a really FUN light air wave ride!) with clean shoulder high peaks, but my Quatro LS Quad 75 remained dry. Too bad the Quad and I were not up there to join you all for that sesh! |

Actually Bill, you get alot of the cred. You guys did a great job with the Hatteras Wave Jam, so we felt like we had to play catch up.
We were more of a slap together, why not thing, no website, but it did work. I would have voted for a sideoff ocean venue, but the only one would have been an hour drive, and remote, so location was key to get the players.
This forum helped, now that one individual seems to have calmed down.
And Rocktober itself helps.....just by being so consistently good
I ran a twin yest, no quads seen.....still a love/hate thing for me...hard to get the little fins to bite in lumpy and fully powered stuff _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=2&v=zw0MgkO7VXw |

Great job , hats off to all you guys that put this together. I will not miss the next event, kids soccer game , and wifes birthday, I was out voted .
Great pics and videos. Claudio is the man , he has been filming us Boston guys for years.
If any of you wave guys are interested I am putting a 8.4 naish wave(76lt) on the classified page for short money.
