NONE of us can ever wavesail as well as the better guys of the late '80's. If we could, we'd be the best guys out there TODAY!
So basically, those guys from the '80's, using '80's gear, surfsailed better than we can today using our current newest gear. NO, they do not surfsail better than the best guys nowadays. But we are not even close to that level.
Believe it, it's true.
Can the newest hyped boards make US perform better than our older boards? Of course, a newer board gives you the stoke and desire to sail better.
If you believe in it, it is true.....for you.
However, anyone else watching you sail might just say you sail just the same Shocked Shocked

??????????????? Tail turning, S- TURN-BS.....are you serious.
Jp, Naish (two different Styles) revolutionized modern wave sailing. In the 90' the only guys laying down grind and ripping the head off.
The new Guns now all do it. 80 wave sailing was just GAY............
{( For those who are RETARDET:NO Offense to the GAY community in any way). oops. (for those who are Retardet No offense was ment either.)}

Lots of great moves in that piece (thanks Gregor!). I especially liked the lay-down top turn at about 2:35.

Too bad we don't have "waves" in the Gorge, too; it would be much easier to explain how the curtain of water from some of the sharper cutbacks cascades on the rider's head as he's making his following bottom turn. Buuuuut, since we don't have waves, I guess we're imagining that ... Wink

1.) That has what to do with Quads? isobars hijacking an iwindsurf forum, how novel.
2.) Let it go Mike, we have been through this “waves” in the Gorge gig three times already. Do me a favor, tonight take the red-eye to Maui and rent gear (with insurance), go to Ho’okipa Saturday (10/02/2010) now it’s only a 11 second period NW swell but should be windy. Sail all afternoon and don’t forget to do one of your infamous hooked in “Gorge bottom turns” and smile for all the cameras. Then come back and tell us all about how there are “waves” and not swell in the Gorge.

P.S. If you need some airline miles for tickets or an upgrade just let me know. Very Happy
