Can you fly commercial jets with old glass boards that don't have vent screws without worry of them exploding? |

His neck has a pair of screws. One is a vent screw, the other is a port through which he accesses his 78 persona. See http://tinyurl.com/2a8c5lw .

Sounds like a great question for one of the glass builders.
Try Gary at Cascade.
His new boards do not have vents - I have 3.
Never any problems with going over the passes (12,000 ft.) in my area.
My friends have had manufactured boards delaminate when left closed. |

So this seems like a legit (if somewhat cliche) question. Based on the responses, folks feel this is a troll?
I am not forum-savvy enough to see the obvious I guess. What is the "troll clue" here? |

It's the author that's casting a shadow over the question.
But, the answer is, it's not an issue with glass boards, at least
I've never had one fail, and I used to send them on airlines
all the time before 9/11.

Glass boards lacking vent screws are almost always employ closed-cell foam. Closed-cell foam is a lot more stable and rigid than open-cell foam and will resist gas expansion that might otherwise destroy a styro-board.
Fly boards, fly. |

If you follow the forum and look at his past posts you would realize the author is the forum resident troll. He even posted this question twice. If you know him you would think he really meant explosion on an airplane.
See the link below to his other post and look at how people interpret it. He posts for attention and uses many different alias' to try to fool everyone.
