|
|
Hey there,
I hope everyone is good with lots of wind!
I'm trying to put together a filming trip along the west coast at the end of this month (focusing on Oregon and Northern Cali). And I would appreciate some help from the locals.
I need ideas for renting a van (or large car); it just needs to fit me, my gear, and at most two other people. Does anyone know of any good but inexpensive rental agencies? I can fly into either Portland or San Francisco to pick it up.
Send me an email at: graham (*at*) ezzy (*dot*) com .
I'm looking forward to some west coast action!
Thanks,
Graham
PS I keep hearing mixed reviews about the conditions in late August. Some say it's good, some say otherwise. As long as there are waves and a little wind, I'm happy (but lots of wind doesn't hurt). So, Oregon/Cali can be good in August right? |

Not sure about the van rental. SF Bay Area will most likely have some wind but certain spots have been dismal all summer long, especially the Coast. If you are willing to travel inland, the Delta and Treasure Island blew almost all of July |

Hi Graham,
Oregon coast nukes in August; Pistol has just been going ooffff.
Surf tends to be smaller than spring but still some good backside waves can usually be found at the rock.
Further north,if the Florence jetty is small or fogged in just head 20 miles north to the turnoff immediately north of Neptunes (it gets the Cape Perpetua venturi) for bigger waves and sunshine.
August tends to be very windy.
Good luck with your endless summer and congrats on Princeton.
