Two of the earliest were the Velocity V1, a black fin with a huge, long, deep slot (sold mine a few years ago) and the two-piece Wilson fin with full-length slot (thus the two pieces). The V1 was slow enough; the Wilson felt like a sweat shirt duct-taped beneath the back of the board. The primary reason it would not spin out is that you couldn't get up enough speed to spin out. Mine was yellow; sold it about 20 years ago.

Those foreskins were very popular prior to the time of Moses.

My Wilson split fin worked great - I loved it back in the days before blade fins and power boxes, but it was kind of a pain to align both pieces into the fin box. Mine was green.
If you want to get really trivial, I believe the Wilson brothers had to change their brand name to Hyperform Fins since it infringed on the Wilson sporting goods trademark.

Yes, I had some Hyperform fins around 1990. They used CNC foil shaping (one of the first to do so?). With these I had no more spin-outs and could finally remove those fore-fin canards. I remember my Hyperforms had very thick stiff foils.

Curiosity.
I started windsurfing in '83, used a slotted Rainbow prototype on my 9' Seatrend glass board. I have no idea when the idea first came out, but I'd suspect something from the EastCoast, as the innovators, Oahu's DiamondHead and Backyards as the place it was really developed.
Those double fins were around like '85-'86.
