We all have an opinion on the cost and value for money of modern boards. Kona do not equate to cheap and nasty, and neither do they sink! Laughing

I've been sailing a Kona for over two years now. It's pretty durable; not as durable as some of those old longboards but for new construction, it seems fine. I took it on the roof of my Honda from New York to Florida, then from New York to Cape Cod, sharing the roof with a SUP board, the entire rig, as well as a clam shell.

The thing about the Kona is that I can only travel with one board. That means no matter what the conditions, I have no choice. My wife, three kids and all their stuff take up the rest of my relatively small car (CRV). I'm not saying other longboards might not work either, but the Kona is a nifty board.
