I'll be in Tuscany for a few days in early-mid May and was thinking about driving north for a couple of sailing days. Does Lake Garda have decent conditions that time of the year?

You should go.

At worst, you'll see one of the most beautiful places of all time. (And there are many other things to do there such as mountain biking, kayaking, etc.)

At best, you'll have a brilliant couple days of windsurfing.

The legendary Ora afternoon winds at Lake Garda are thermal-driven and they do become reliable as the weather warms up. Thus, if you were going in April, the answer would probably be no. If you asked about June, the answer would be yes. But of course you're asking about May...which can go either way.

To research more, you could wade through the windsurf centers' websites for your answer, but you could save hours by just calling. These are salesmen so they will probably convince you to come, and that will probably be the right move... Very Happy

I am planning a trip, probably for June. I assume the water is cold. Is shorty wetsuit enough or more longer suit needed?
