Climate change brainwashing will eventually result in huge taxes that these corporate leftists are so happy to pass on to the little guy. |

Let me know when you have a majority of Republican legislators willing to buck the real estate speculation and do something to stop encouraging that behavior. |
mac, you one funny guy, I posted that article as an example of what to watch out for when listening to warmer's knee jerk reactions to the hurricanes. You being one of those.
"Anyone trying to score political points after a natural disaster should take a deep breath and review the science first." Guilty.
"Alarmists reveled in the irony that Houston, home to petrochemical plants, was flooded by Harvey" Guilty.
"Yet climate scientists all too often speculate during interviews rather than refer to IPCC reports or their cousins from the U.S. National Climate Assessment. Some climate scientists have peddled tenuous theories with no contemporaneous research evidence. Advocacy groups package these talking points for easy consumption by journalists [and their sycophants], who eagerly repeat them." Guilty.
"To prepare for the next hurricane, the U.S. needs the best weather forecasts, evacuation plans and leadership. These plans should be built on sound science, not speculation, overselling or exaggeration. Hurricane science in this political climate already has enough spin." Guilty.
Then you try to blame the republicans for over populating hazardous areas. You're not fooling anybody.

As usual, taken out of context and spun. Those who know something about modeling in general, and climate modeling in particular, have long acknowledged that models have limited utility for precise projections. The physics are simply too complicated to capture completely. The valid use for models is to compare scenarios.
Now to the article--global warming occurring, but more slowly. Correct so far. But there are two things left out. First, the period of suspected slowing of temperature rise is very short, and actual trends may be masked by chaotic data. The expected temperature rise according to models is in the range of perhaps 2/10 of a degree--well within the error bands of our data. Second, a huge amount of heat has been stored in the ocean--to a degree not predicted by models. This may account for the so-called hiatus in warming--and portend even longer warming. I first posted information from Scripps scientists about ocean warming over two years ago.

Correct, the liberal media includes massive amounts of fear, and we are the ones to blame. Fear and guilt, favorite tools. |

please elaborate.. | This is a stupid answer to a stupid request, by somebody who may have been absent for the last 30'ish years.
So beyond the cartoon, Ted Danson '88, "the oceans will be dead in 10 years", Al Gore's "Incon. Truth" '06, no need to explain that, Dr. David Viner 2000, from U. East Angola climate research, "children won't know snow in a few years". I could go on, but you get it, hopefully, if not, so what. |

Pretty funny. Hurricanes are fed by hot water, but the Drudge/Breitbart/Koch disinformation system continues to pump nonsense out there, and folks like NW continue to believe it and repost it. Nothing to do with global warming goe the fake news story. |

Soon the Northern hemisphere oceans will cool as usual, and then you won't have to clutch your pearls for another 10 months... |
