Looks like strong South wind on Monday
I am new to the area - what are good wave sailing spots on a S. Wind?
Anyone else going out? |

Huntington Beach Cliffs, Sunset Beach, or I have heard of people sailing south of Newport Beach (Corona Del Mar?) on a S wind. |

And let's not forget, it was abnormally cold. I got out of a doctor's appointment at 3:50, and while it was honestly too late to really sail, the temperature at the time was totally off the top. Even if I had enough time to sail for maybe an hour or so, the conditions were very demanding. Clearly untoward for those living below the central coast along the south facing coastline in SB area.
Still though, wind averages at C Street around 5:30-6:00 PM timeframe was 34 mph, and it suddenly came straight off the top out of nowhere. Definitely a notable event. Check out the iWindsurf graph. |

Tourmaline definitely showed a little spike of wind that day . I'll bet that you can get launched over waves breaking on Cardiff Reef, eh? Anybody get any pic's?
Many a weekend during high school were spent at the Cardiff campground. We caught a lot of good surf, back in the day. Ah...."the day"......makes me want to roll up a reefer. If only it wasn't for the madness that sets in, and it's lasting effects. |

I windsurfed at Sunset Beach today by myself, in the rain, on a 5.0, with the wind coming from the south. |

I think I did. After watching "Reefer Madness", I got scared. I actually do have that DVD laying around somewhere, but I seem to have forgotten where. Hmm.....
BTW: You'd know if I'd indulged. When I was regularly indulging, back in "the day", my eyes got so damn red that I was constantly labeled "a bust". If I had a nickel for every time I heard, "Dude, you're a bust", I'd be able to buy a new carbon boom. |
