According to NOAA the outer cape forecast is for NE 15-20 gusts to 30 with a temp not too bad.
The one problem is a noon time low tide. I'm not real interested in waiting until 2:30+ at Chapin, Mayflower or whatever.
I would imagine Jerry and the big boys will hang out at the Cut. Old standby Pleasant Bay (Chatham side w/ NE) is pretty much unaffected by the tide. I'd like more waves, but not the open ocean. FYI Graham, noting that you are getting comfortable with high winds, this isn't a bad place for you to try out.

Alright I'm not gonna cry about the p!ss poor lack of enthusiasm.
The weather is Orleans is already better than I expected - partial clearing, winds (at home) 10-20 and low 50s.
If you believe the forecasts, it's only gonna get better.

If it was another day of NNE winds, I probably wouldn’t have spent my lunch break fooling around at the Chatham side of Pleasant Bay. Even though yesterday’s holiday delivered powered 5.0 sailing, the low tide made for short runs on the shore to shore pattern – OK but kinda like piano practice. Today it was more ENE, so taking off from the Orleans side gave long runs all the way to the golf course and back. Same 5.0 sail but rigged a lot tighter. Near the end of a short session, I could have used a 4.2. Not open ocean, but still pretty “spirited” for a scrawny lightweight riding solo. I give yesterday a B and today a B+
