Looking for any report on the twin wave boards ......how they work in the Gorge (not ocean)

RRD in particular. other impressions ok.
How they handle swell, posted volume seem correct, like sail larger or smaller ? any change of fins ?

Cheers

Here's a great test that will give you some insight.

I'm the new distributor for RRD here in the US and absolutely love these boards in all sizes. They work great in the Gorge conditions here but obviously really shine in wave conditions. The 2010 models are on the way. Shapes remained the same but the fin boxes were moved a bit forward and they went up one fin size, improving planing and upwind ability.
For a look at the new board, check out:

I read that test, a .5cm larger fin for 2010 and about 1/8" movement on the finbox is not much change. The Thruster looks good.

you will be happy with me, 74L TwinWave has my name on it.

Cheers

I have been trying the Starboard "Evil Twin" in 70 and 74 liters in the corridor and at Dougs the last few weeks. They are amazing boards and I am sold on Starboard R&D and quality. It turns tighter and faster than any board I have been on. It is wide so it stays on the front of a wave, planes fast for it size and floats when catching air. It will turn any radius you want but it is soooo fun to push these boards hard in the turns. Of course they are very controllable in high winds but I assume that is a characteristic of most twins.

The 70 liter did not foot steer as nice as I hoped and did not go to weather very well. I read that taller/narrower fins would cure that. I tried some 7" GFC fins and it made all the difference. The 70 kicked but with these fins. The 74 worked great with the stock Drake fins, but I am curious what a narrower fin might do to this already excellent ride. I highly recommend trying these for gorge sailing. Big Winds has them in their Demo fleet and they are great to work with. If you decide to demo at Big Winds and want to try the GFC fins let me know and I will let you give them a try.
FYI- The evil twin is ending up being a 1 year only board as Starboard is putting their efforts into the Quad now.

Good luck in your search

well, this may be worthless, but I tried a twin in Baja two years ago and I wondered why anyone would ride anything else. I have mostly been kiting for the last 9 years, but the twin was so fun I almost wanted to windsurf again.

Fun board--can't recall the brand, size or anything else. All I remember was that it was a twinzer and it was super fun.

Hi all

Gorge Sport has produced the GFC, Gorge Fin Connection fins.

They are now marketed as Orca by gsport or in the Gsport line.

You can see the fin collection at www.gsport.com

We have various side fins in several box configuration in stock. If you have used Open Ocean or the previous Gorge Animal, Bonzer, or Logosz design we produced those as well.

There should be a few at Second Wind in Hood River

email me at the website if you need help.

I d also appreciate any feedback on how our products are working
