There haven't been any reports of damage, so it's a moot point. Mike would certainly have brought this up at the start of this thread if there was significant damage in the past.... he'll certainly bring it up now if there's even a blade of grass out of place on that perfectly manicured lawn.
Obviously, the Native Americans are ticked off at something at Roosevelt having to do with windsurfers. There's a few things we need more info about, that nobody here is talking about. How long has this pow wow been happening at this location? Has anyone taken the time and effort to find out why windsurfers are not welcome at this pow wow?
I think they're ticked off at Mike for being such a jerk... and now we all must suffer.

I'm not from the Gorge, but I'm here now and was at Maryhill all day yesterday. The place looked great.
What I don't understand about Mike's complaint is whether anyone else could reserve a location for a private event? We see this all the time in my fair city of Boston. A group pays for a license to use a ball park all weekend, for example. What is the big deal?

There are certainly issues going on out there. Colonel Fick is creating another Little Big Horn out in the desert. Bottom line should be; “You Break IT, You Pay For IT”. If the Indians screw the lawn up then bill em. Roosevelt is a great place; I hope it stays that way?

Perhaps we've forgotten the fact that we're the new kids on the block? Native American culture goes back THOUSANDS of years vs. Gorge windsurfing culture goes back not quite 30 years.
So, if you want a perfectly spotless, manicured lawn.... move to Beverly Hills and build a security fence around it for Christ sake. The Gorge is not the place for these type values.

The Indians don't know me from squat, the problems pre-date me by many years WAY above my pay grade, the extensive past vandalism has nothing to do with this thread, and Pete's upcoming child molestation conviction appeal hearing seems to have his panties bunched up. I'll leave him to the rest of you to deal with.
