A nice Hood River Officer informed me and several other folks that by City Ordinance 13.48 and Port of Hood River Ordinance it is unlawful to park and sleep over night in a recreational vehicle anywhere within the City Limits and on Port Property in Hood River. He was nice enough to tell us to move along and suggested we camp at Viento, Memaloose or Tucker Park. He said the fine is up to $500.00. Sounds like the nice Officers are getting heat from the brass to get us doggies movin' along so be nice when they tell ya you gotta go. |

They have been doing this for many years. And Walmart is also closed down with the abuse of barbecues, dogs, parties, etc in the parking lot. Other Walmart stores closed there lost due to drug deals, but that apparently was not the problem in Hood River. Many years ago you stay at the Marina or and RV lot (now gone) near the new Safeway for $5, that was nice. |
