gregor, you are quite right.

The wind readings on both the C Street and Leo Carrillo sites are greatly over represented. The earlier fix to make things "more actual" has been a really lame effort that yielded a lot of frustration, at least on my part.

Yes - I would have to agree . The sensor at leo is reading on average 8 knots more than the speed of actual surface winds near the water . After about three tanks of gas I realized that I should only bother going if it hits above 20 . Of course I agree with the note that it should be fixed . The camera on another well known surf site is actually more accurate and shows white caps at county line if the wind is good . I too am questioning my subscription . Seems like money for nothing if you don't get what you pay for . The accuracy of the wind readings do not equal the accuracy my credit card payment to I windsurf .

This has been an ongoing issue with I windsurf .

I used to (try to) sail Leo when I lived in the southern lands which are unfortunately barren of thought and wind. Don't blame the sensor. It's just trying to be like its cool cousins up north,

I thought for a second that Gregor was speaking Hungarian. FOS, in Hungarian, means diarrhea.

Well, diarrhea is what we are getting. There have been others that have tried to provide this service (anyone remember CallOfTheWind.com?). Why do people smart enough to start and run a company like this think that their customers are as dumb as fence posts? As for me in Hawaii, I NEVER rely on iWindsurf - now I ALWAYS cross check with the NOAA Website.

I have learned not to rely on the Leo sensor alone, I look at the Oxnard sensor and those in the channel to see get an overall picture of the wind.

I also look at Surfline/County Line for white caps as well as WatchTheWater.org/Nicolas Canyon which is a pretty good camera and if there are enough white caps to sail you will seem them.

Hey Koogzah, so you prefer slaloming around alone in a tight helmet at TI, to sailing the warm So. Cal waters @ Leo? Hmmm.
You made the right choice.
