July 1st usually is a no go without a weed fin but the San Luis water
release has been different this year so maybe it's not bad yet?? Anyone
on top of the weed situation (puff puff) there?? |

I sailed there on 6/20 and I needed a weed fin! The water level was 221.5 with weeds at the surface. Not the big clumps yet. Seems like the weeds are worse with all that high water level.

David,
Thx for the update. It looks like it might be good down there this weekend but I don't have a weed fin. All the high water this
year is great for sailing but, it looks like the weeds love it too..
There always locations in the main res, but the water level is low
making for a long gear haul:

I went by there yesterday and could see the weeds from the Highway. The water level was about 220.
I will be there tomorrow and will have my weed fins on.
I carry a couple of spare weed fins to loan out, A and trim. |

Are the weeds better, winds the same as ONeill forbay???
I did Los Banos Creek decades ago (in college) and
remember having a good time. Dont know how it
compares today. |

The weeds are a non-issue in the main lake as it is much deeper. The wind can be much stronger in the main lake and when the wind is cranking, the swell can be quite large. |
