I'm look'n.

12-2 is the window for me.

At 8, the camera is already showing some good size swells off shore.

YIKES!! I hope my left shoulder is up to it.

Noon time scouting report for Nauset Beach:

Too big for me.

A friend of mine who is bigger, stronger, better thought it was head high. I watched struggle to get out for not much more than a pounding.

Some waves breaking 1/2 mile out.

Phone pictures tonight.

To the untrained eye, the attached picture is pretty underwhelming.

Now if you are part of the cast-off SUP / Surf crowd, notice the second line of breaking waves (a half mile off shore!!!)

Trust me, it was much bigger in real life.

Where can you go where there's tire tracks all over the beach sand? Is it far from the maddening crowd? I think not.

I often sail alone, or am the first to any given break. More often than not, I cannot get a handle on the size of the surf if no one is in it, surfers, WS'ers or whomever. Been having that problem for over 3 decades.....
