Emergency ride back to Montreal from Hatteras

I am from Virginia but I have a very good friend from Montreal who was in Avon and just suffered a mild stroke as he was heading to the Canadian Hole to windsurf yesterday. He is now in Chesapeake General hospital. Although he may get well enough to go back to Avon, he does not know if he will be well enough to make the long drive back to Montreal.

He is/was scheduled to leave for home on Sunday May 31. I am his only contact here in the states so I am trying to find someone who is down there now and planning on returning on or before that day and who might have an extra seat, plus room for a few personal items I assume. I will likely be picking up his car with all his windsurfing gear so there should be no need to deal with any of that.

Since I have no other means of contacting any others from Montreal who may be down there, other than making the trip myself and asking around, I am hoping that some of you here may have friends down there now who you might be able to put me in contact with.
