Did that title get you started?
Well I do on a day like today - Grade A all the way!
I was just smok'n 4.0 conditions this after noon.
Helmets - to each is own - I was trying to do a left hand u-turn down the east end of the beach, totally overpowered, and just couldn't get it around. I left my front arm on the boom so that when I fell in it would be a quick restart. Well it didn't work out as planned and the mast just hammered me on the top of the head. Without my stupid Gath Convertable, it would have at least been the end of today's session. It felt llike it was big enough the crack some bone.

PS too much fooling around this week
Friday night Surf - B, Sat am Surf - B, Sun am WS - A+, Tuesday am Surf A+, WS Today A+
Tuesday before work, some of the sweetest glassy knee to waist high sets with warm 100% sunshine. Everyone would want to be a surfer w/ those conditions!!

Ron,
I'll be heading to Kalmus tomorrow morning. I should be there by 10. I need to drop a sail off for Gerda first.

It probably was better down cape as I saw too many lulls in Mashpee to call it epic. Perhaps I would have done better with the 6.9 North Duke, but the sail of the day was my 6.5. (Allow a few extra knots of wind, that does conform to the 0.5-0.6 per 20 lb. rule.) After lunch and a change of fins I got a little lazy, was pulled off in a gust after beach starting and put my knee through a bottom panel. It will be sailing over Gerda's fence next.

Serious question here
How come you guys go to Coast Guard? Is the bar that much better than just sailing over from Chatham or Nauset?

no, the bars are prob pretty good at nauset. In fact we've SUPped your
break on town beach (north).....nice. The other day, I supped the inlet, when there was no other breaking wave on the coast.
The WIND FETCH is much better at Coast Guard....in theory...anyway.
At times yest, you could notice some breeze off of the bay.
That having been said, It's really more fun to sail in front of a web-cam....even if it only takes a picture every minute.....plus the showers changing room....bunny rabbits for Amy to chase.....
Target-rich environment yesterday....total fun

How'd you make out Oliver?
My adpopted parents Bruce and Gerda were there yesterday. I'm not sure why the old man didn't tough it out when the wind really picked up.
It felt good to be a dry productive member of society today.

Ron,
I was glad to see you out there today. It didn't look inviting but it was a good session. Gerda says she and Bruce were there before you arrived.
I got my sail fixed and had a great session even if it was raining.
