Hi Folks,

I am vistiting Florida end of March and the first two week in April and I bet you all know a lot about:

- nice windsurfspots (and rental possibilities)
- nice, cosy places to stay
- places that I must vistit (but please do not propose Disney or the NASA)
- any other must do's and see's Wink

Thanks and Aloha from Germany,
Dirk

Florida is a huge state, I believe the fifth largest after Alaska, Texas, California and Nebraska. Where will you be.

Some suggestions for a Florida Visit:

Windsurfing try Bahia Honda State Park -- http://www.bahiahondapark.com/
or Key West -- http://www.jewelrygenius.com/windinfo.html

Other non-windsurfing things I enjoyed include visits to the
Florida Keys, the Everglades, Space Center, Pennekamp Coral Reef and Fairchild Gardens

Different seasons offer great winds and launches. Right now, the SE sector is great. March can be good everywhere.

S. Daytona has a rental spot and an inlet close by.

Merritt Island has a couple of rentals. Calema and Banana River Resort.

However, March can be much better in Hatteras, on Long Island or Cape Cod. It has started well, though, here in Florida.

The current plan is arriving in Orlando, driving the west coast down to the everglades and the keys and then the east cost up to orlando again. But it is not 100% decided yet we are flexible (maybe going a further north...).

Any places to stay in Key West? Where to windsurf? My wife and I are going April 16-28, but will only need a place for 4-5 days. Would love something laid back and not in a high-rise condo building or hotel.

Well, close; Nebraska is 15th, Florida 26th.

As for "not NASA" (the Space Center), Dirk ... that's puzzling. It's a fascinating place, and arguably exists thanks to some of your ex-countrymen, including Wernher von Braun, a hero to many of us.
