Well, I shelled out the 3 bucks for the entrance fee at the Sebastian Inlet State Park and went out to the point for sailing. I was there sometime around high tide, but I saw exposed sandbars in the path of my reaches. Some had become bird sanctuaries. Is this the normal venue there? It seems that I spent most of the session trying to stay upwind (a North or N.E. wind) of these shallows. It didn't seem to me that this was a very good location for windsurfing at all. Next time I drive up that way, I will try Clam beach, but I wonder if I'll find it just as shallow. I didn't see any exposed sandbars from the road, though. So far I prefer launching from the North side of Wabasso Causeway as there's some depth to the waters.

Yes, the venue you visited is the normal venue of the place you visited.

No need to wonder, just head out at low tide on a strong offshore day.

Well, I'm heading out for Wabasso Causeway today. The wind has picked up dramatically while the temperatures have dropped. One thing I didn't mention was the dead stingray I saw on the beach at the point. Now, I know they are out there.

Perhaps instead you might be on the lookout for the living variety. Wink

Not a problem, Brucie. They don't hurt.

Much.

What was that, Brucie? Couldn't hear ya -- I had my ear plugs in.

Brucie, with all your gear and all that hot air you blow, how could it be too cold for you?
