My family is relocating to China for the year and I'm looking to sail over Chinese New Year. Philippenes and Thailand are not options. Does anyone suggest someplace that would be relatively easy to get to? We are considering Phan Thiet in Vietnam but it requires a 3.5 hour ride from Saigon... not sure that my 3 1/2 year old and husband are up for the treck. Thanks in advance!

Just as a suggestion, I would recommend posting your question on Starboard's Free Forum. In the past there have been Chinese windsurfers that have posted there. Also, you might want to identify the area in China where you will be residing.

I hear Penghu Island in Taiwan is super windy... don't know what their season is, but it's 3.5-4.0 conditions from what I hear.

My friends wen there a few years ago, and they put up a video:

An interesting reversal of what I see in one of my venues. Instead of onshore port going out, it's onshore starboard. Still though, thinking about the outer stuff looks fun. as the surf line of the reef is quite expansive. Jump after jump looks promising. Also, I like backside surf sailing.
