Thanks very much all around for the hard work and due diligence FWC. It was fun. Too bad we didn't get last week's swell, it was large to medium for nearly a week. Oh well, that's temperate zone weather for ya.... All the more reason to consider a long board. Cheers. |

2008 Florida Wave Challenge Video
I've added a short video from the 2008 Florida Wave Challenge to the website: www.floridawavechallenge.com. Although the light winds were a challenge, we had a great time.
I'm predicting a bigger and better event in 2009, so I'm hopeful that you can help promote it by forwarding this email to potential contestants. If you've received this email indirectly, please contact me and I'll add you to the email list for the next Florida Wave Challenge.
Thanks, Bruce Thomas brucethomas@cfl.rr.com 407-810-4811 |

I think the final had less wind than this video of Antoine Albeau who also got to enjoy larger waves breaking further out. I've had days that rival and exceed this one, but it'll give you an idea what a long w/o straps does. Long boards with straps allow a better level of stability to hit the lip and do more critical turns. All good though...
