Racing or not, Kona's Rock

new kona racers is the thread for their picture.

Warning: I'm so proud of my gurl it will probably make some of you sick.

After almost twenty years of Kathi tagging along with me to windsurfing regattas all over the US, Kathi never raced. I always raced and she free sailed and relaxed, even though she is an advanced ability level windsurfer. Well, I softly twisted Kathi's arm for this past Toucan regatta, at Lake McConaughy, NE near Ogallala, NE [Toucan is always the weekend after Labor Day]. We chartered boards and she raced in the Kona class [Thanks to Larson's and Aerotech/Exocet]. Having never sailed the board and kit, until just before the start of the races, she continued on for two days of racing to place first in the Women's class and third overall in the Sport class. She's more proud of the latter, since 1st place woman sometimes means last place man.
