I am curious as to what kind of material Ezzy uses for their battens. I posted this question on their website, but as tomorrow is Labor Day, they probably won't reply, and rightly so, until Tuesday.
However, I am impatient, so if anybody knows please let me know. Esp. curious about 2011 Infinity batten material, and I am too lazy to actually take a batten out of one of my sails to see.
thanks. |

If they're anything like North battens, it's a glass fiber / epoxy composite with the fibers apparently all oriented directly along the long axis of the batten.
It's a fairly rigid bar that goes clank if you hit it with a fingernail. When abused, it breaks with nasty glass fibers poking through and getting snagged in the batten sleeve and everything else. |
