Actually, I'd forgotten about it. Sorry man. I hope that you packed them in and rocked them out. We'll be there for the August gig at ....what's the name of that place? I just can't seem to remember "The Alamo".

So no one has answered Capetonian; how was the wind on the 4th? I know that I was looking at the graph thinking that maybe it isn't as good as it looks, since I wasn't going to fight Fourth of July traffic all the way up PCH from Santa Monica. There have been several days recently when the graph looked a lot better than the conditions at beach actually were.

By the way a heads up to everyone. I will be on a trip out of town Tuesday and Wednesday. According to my theory it will blow like snot both days. Just doing my part.

It was pretty nice, although at times gusty. Whenever the chart shows the highs and lows being far apart, you can bet that it's gusty, i.e. alternating holes and gusts which can be annoying, especially on the inside. However, there were times yesteday when it felt very nice and steady...probably when the chart shows the highs/lows being closer together.

Also, there was a south-swell which totally surprised me, 'cause I expected nothing. Some nice shoulder high sets rolling through.

Overall, a very pleasant surprise for a 4th of July which tends to be windless. Once again, Billy got last call, getting out of the water just before 8pm.

Finally, catching the fireworks show off the barge at Broad beach/Trancas, as well as Paradise Cove's show in the distance was a nice way to finish it off.

Nice report nealpar. Looks like a favorable score for a holiday event.

Yes, the private iWindsurf.com sensors (yellow ones) are often the most useful. Myself, using primarily the premium iWindsurf sensors, I save the annual cost of membership IN ONE WEEKEND knowing where to go and not wasting gas.
