I've seen those two dogs in "person". They're a couple of good-looking animals. I remember them being pretty smart too. When nealpar called, they came running, tails between their legs.... Just kidding. They seemed happy to please their master.
I like the way the refection of the sun on the sand in the one photo looks like it terminates on top of the Belgian's nose, after hanging out on the German's nose for a bit.
You take a bit of a chance on rescue dogs, but it's a worthy endeavor. It looks like yours turned out real well.

Great thread guys and gals! I wish I could figure out a way of posting pics of my dog team without making my one year old Viszla Sasha look bigger than Clifford the big red dog. Also have a three year old yellow lab named Sugar Magnolia ("Maggie"). Maggie is the smartest and most relentless retriever I have had and will even dive and swim under water to bring things back to me. Before these two, I also had another Lab and Viszla team named who died of old age within a year of one another-very sad. For some reason I am partial to bird dogs. Q, your comment about your Ausie having a name for his pet squirrel reminds me of my very eccentric Southern mother-in-law who, when talking to our dogs, always referred to herself in the thrid person as "Missy".

notice there are no rugrats. All the dogs are big active dogs -the kind you take on walks in the mountains or in our case, the desert. Windsurfers have so much in common-apparently dogs are campanions for outdoor activities for nearly all of us. We have 3 labs, one a shelter dog, but I have not taken them to the beach as I could not afford to pay for all the new sails. They are completely friendly-too much so and they would have a great time at the beach at everyone else's expense. By the way, I've sworn off political threads -otherwise windsurfers seem to agree on most everything.

love to take my girl to the beach, but sometimes she breaks the leash out of the sandstakes and swims out to climb on board my board! Sadly, with her on board my balance is way off, so I end up in the water while she rides
btw, this is Telephone Cove NV, just North of Laughlin. You can drive up and launch right from the beach, and stay there and camp too!
