Sailed from about 3:30 to 5:30 pm. 104L board 6.2 sail fully powered about 50% of the time, overpowered about 25% of the time and shlogging about 25% of the time. I was sailing north of the Bridge and was the only person sailing which surprised me since there didn't seem to be wind anywhere else in the area.

Hey Ruffus,
Nice to see you the other day. Sorry I couldn't hang - had to beeline it back to the family.

What size kite were you on? Looked small. Next time, take a spin on the poleboard and show us if it's really like riding a bicycle...

yo dude!! i was on my 9m kite and lit like a firefly. What a great day, i havent sailed the sound there since 96'. and to think i grew up there and started there when i was 10, such memories. That was one of those days i will never forget. What was really cool was while mid flight on a few jumps, i could look clear over to the bay side as well as see the cars in the parking lot where we were all parked. that was just wild. yeah next time i make it down i will take your stuff for a spin. I took mustangs out for a ride and felt dialed right in even threw a half cocked forward on the way in. It really is like riding a bike, I think kiting has made my windsurfing even better dont know why i just have noticed it.

anyway, centre island will never be the same now that i mucked it up with my prescense Very Happy

Wouldn't you say that kiting is easier than windsurfing?

"Wouldn't you say that kiting is easier than windsurfing?"

I think the initial learning curve is definately faster than windsurfing..the ability to go back and forth comfortable takes about 1/5 the time for sure. However, like any sport, once you start to push things, it become exponetially more difficult, as hard as windsurfing without a doubt. if not harder in a way becuase the wipeouts become helacious. not as easy to bail out.....

Hey kajTEK
Welcome to the forum...
Gary is riding an old 80 ltr. Mistral (Screamer?)...
Old school design, great for control in chop and bump + jump.
I tried to upload another video to Google from Memorial Day, but it
hasn't been cleared yet.
