Sailed Waddell today. At one point I counted:
* 7 Windsurfers
* 14 Kiters
* 1 Hanglider
Wind was light and holey, but I, and others, I think, had a good time. Liked it! |

windward what were you riding today?
what time were you out?
How's the sand or lack of it ?
It look like it hit 20 a couple of times for and hour or
two on the site today.
Could be some wind in the next few days but likely to be cold. |

Hi Ctuna,
It was light when I went out at 2 P.M. One other windsurfer out and a couple of kites. So I took the Bic Techno 283 and my 7.0 Ezzy. Actually worked for me. At Waddell
Later the wind came up stronger and more wave board sailors went out. Looked like a lot of quads. One guy was on a JP 84 which he said was his big board. I just need more float for this big carcass and I like to have some power.
I never felt overpowered and I certainly was set up to handle the holes well. Once I re-set the footstraps larger to handle my new booties, I was in good shape.
Swell came in sets. Sometimes they got steep quickly.
Had a lot of fun. |

155L (no snarky remarks: twin fin for shallow conditions), o/p 5.7 but very rewarding water start practice. Rigged down to 5.0, ran out of daylight before I could get things dialed in.
Two others with actual skills were ripping; kiteboarder admitted that "you guys always outrun me." Referring to the two guys with skills. |

3-5p in Alameda yesterday, me and 5 kiters. 7.0/135l, mostly planing except for a few long lulls. Pleasant for February... |

O/p 6.4, down to 5.7, good. Two others were out on 5.1, 4.3. Good water start practice, but my hands went numb and it ebbed too far by the time they thawed. Glad I went out. |

Alameda Sat Feb 23rd, 9:30-11:30a, I'd call it "puffy lulls" 5-20mph, got me planing about 50% of the time (7.0/135l/150lb), felt like lake sailing. Very flat though, due to the short northerly wind fetch, so a few 25+ mph runs despite low wind.
dsgrntl> do you wear gloves? I use some NP open-palm mittens that work very well at keeping my hands thawed, wouldn't go out without them in the winter. |
