If it didn't, you're gonna have to find some plus size skates if you want to go back and hang out. Weren't Hillary and Madeline A. on staff (and skates)? Laughing

The original Reactor bars could bend. The more recent ones (since the mid '90s) are stronger. I've used the same Reactor bar now for at least 6-8 years @190, in everything the Gorge can throw at us 8 months out of the year, preferring too much power, hooked in all day, and crashing as often as I possibly can. My very fast, back-looping, 240-pound stainless steel bud crashes HUGE all day 12/months out of the year and has used the same Reactor bar for years.

Besides, if I bent Reactor bars, I'd just buy 'em by the case, 'cause I wouldn't sail without one.

I've had bad luck with the reactor bar (roller type) The roller itself broke twice. The screw came loose a few times and many times my harness line would just barely catch on the edge, hold until I got really powered up and then slip off. The device is a little more complicated than it has to be.

Went back to the hook type. One broke where the hook was welded. The hook stayed on, the bar broke.

Loctite. And I give the roller bolt a check with my fingertip every day, just like I flex and eyeball my rubber uni every time I rig.

That edge-catch is a PITA, all right, but I'm guessing the deeper roller with the narrower lip would prevent that. One of these years I might swap rollers and find out.
