Sure. As soon as you get a decent house over there, give us a hint and we all come over to see whether Virginia Key is better than Kalmus.

No, I haven't sailed Miami as our winter condo is in Central Florida. Perhaps next winter I will as it has been rebuilt. However, the winds might be gusty in New England, but there are definitely more windy days than Chicago (the windy city) and many other American cities. The winds on the south facing beaches on the Cape see steady SW's which is the most common wind. If you look at old paintings of Boston harbor (Robert Salmon, Fitz Hugh Lane, etc. ), you can see how crowded it was with sail. Cape Cod is windier than Florida, but it also can have more snow than Me., Vt. and N.H. Basically you are comparing cold water sailing to Warm which gives you a more favorable climate in Miami for any water sport. By the way, you aren't a bona fide windsurfing man if you don't have Glacier Gloves that look like this.

Ah. That explains it. YOU'RE the Florida pool cleaner. And all along, you claimed it was me, but it's you, Brucie.

BTW ---- are those your fin sanding gloves?

Forcast is for good NW winds Saturday. I'd like to try Squantum. Anyone planning to go? My other option is Crow Point, Hingham, but there's no public parking there.

Hi Oliver,

I'm planning on sailing. I'm hoping to go to the Cape for some bumpiness, maybe Corporation or Mayflower. If I get tight for time I might switch my plans and go to someplace close like Squantum. I'll know by tomorrow night.

Hi folks.
Anyone willing to offer any specifics on the preferred model(s) of Glacier Gloves? I have a pair of Deep Sea five finger gloves which were given to me long ago when I bought my first dry suit. They apparently are diving gloves, only good for ruining the appetite of a hungry sea monster. I gave up on gloves as a result and have missed many good days as a result. Any help would be appreciated. I won't have them in time for Squantum this weekend, but I might be able to take a look at yours. Thanks.

Glacier Gloves- Get the Hypalon perfect curve or perfect curve fleece lined neoprene. I have both kinds and they are pretty similar. The fleece lined may be a slight fraction thicker, it's hard to tell. Any fleece that may be there is so thin that it looks just about like neoprene. The hypalon- doesn't seem any stronger, says 90% neoprene & 10% nylon inside, the palm is a different color but it looks just like neoprene. In use I can't tell the difference. the price is the same.

I have a pair that opened along the seam of the palm. If you want to repair them you can have them if we cross paths in Squantum tomorrow.

I've got enough time to drive to the Cape tomorrow, so I'm going to take a look at Corporation or Mayflower. I hope it's good at Squantum!
