There might have been some hard ice on Sunday morning after the short refreeze. I heard about a lot of people skating a little farther north. I also heard that iceboarding conditions were good on Friday morning.

If it's warm all week I'll look to sail in the water next weekend.

February may be the only month I haven't sailed in the water. What kind of suit are you using, dry? Don't know what the water temps are at the moment.

Nice pics. Next time, please resize your pics to 150K or less before uploading to the forum. Thanks!

That's puny, maybe a little too puny ...

The ice yesterday was covered with some snow and didn't appear safe. There's still a few inches of ice left, but it's very weakened. The freezing nights this week, starting last night, look very helpful for rebuilding, though there's rain in the forecast for Wednesday.

I don't see much of a future for the ice in Eastern Ma. now. The current deep freeze and wind will quickly change to melting conditions. You need four days of deep freeze to really see safe ice. That usually doesn't happen in the second half of February. In fact, I don't remember it ever happening.
