JUST FYI:
These internet forums are constantly being scoured by marketing interests, and companies who employ people to "pretend" to be one of us, and carefully (or ever so transparently in the "PRIUS" topic), insert their little commercial agenda. They start a discussion or debate by planting a "seed" around their desired topic, (be it a car model, vacation destination, etc...), and soon, the buzz generated serves as free advertising.
It's funny to see people take the bait and run with it. See the PRIUS topic. (note how jccormier makes no comment about windsurfing, but only about the car's specs, and comparables)
Some others were about certain windsurf vacation destinations.
I know I know....paranoia will destroy-ya...... but just because I'm paranoid doesn' t mean people aren't CONSTANTLY trying to separate me from my money. |

Aw c'mon NP....you may need to cut down on The Chronic....jcormier has 149 posts...most rambling on about windsurfing....not unlike the posts by you and I...here's one I singled out as almost certainly not fake:
"We use HiFly's and a few other beginner boards at our schools. Here are my thoughts about the Mambo:
The pros:
-Incredibly durable
-wide style - balance
-retractable center board for learning ..." |

On Sunday evening I received a telephone call from Rebecca concerning a windsurfing product I'm interested in, and as an unrelated issue in our conversation, she asked if I knew anything about racks for a Prius. She owns a Prius and would like to consider acquiring a rack to help her transport boards between her two business locations.
This all occurred prior to her posting the thread here. Let's not needlessly worry and wring our hands trying to find something negative here. The forum does offer an opportunity to network and communicate with other folks who have similar interests. In my mind, that's a great positive. |

you need to chill out nealpar, I know, we all suffer from the lack of wind. You just picked the wrong example for a good cause. Rebecca is cool and her post is genuine.
However, I do agree with you about marketing interests hiddem behind some posts here. |

Nealpar grew up in a communist country. Being suspicious is a way of life for her. Kind of like growing up in the socialist republic of California. |

Aha. And I bet none of you have thought of the possibility that owning a windsurfing rental business is just a front. A front for the PRIUS business. ! How naive of all of you.
OK, I'm kidding. or am I? OK I am. No I'm not.
I'm not convinced. THink about it. Someone named jccormier starts a topic about PRIUS. Cormier? As in CORMIER HONDA? Come on, did you guys forget about that huge Honda dealership? and Prius is a HONDA. So, to me, it all made sense.
Maybe Miss Cormier is RELATED?
Maybe I don't care.
PS: Take no offense Ms. Cormier. Just having fun here, while I'm checking the wind & weather conditions..... |

On the contrary, I think we all need extra rations of the chronic to help us make it to the next time on the water. |
