Windsurfing geeks keep complaining about the dearth of Gorge-area technical jobs east of Portland. Well, now it's "official": the top metro area in the U.S. for scientists and engineers is once again where it was for much of the mid 20th century: Tri-Cities, WA, on the Columbia River way "Out East". Expansion Management Magazine evaluated 362 metro areas for their "Knowledge Worker Quotient", a guide to help businesses find the best-educated work force for knowledge sector economy.
I'd keep that to myself if I thought a lot of people would look into it and move here, but so far most people think I'm kidding when my answer to their Light Wind Blues is, "Move".
Google <"Expansion Management Magazine" Tri-Cities>.
