Saturday afternoon had real nice flat water sailing. I rigged a 7.1 and used my new 130L freeride board which worked perfectly for the conditions. There were only 3 of us "kooks" out. A kiter came zooming thru but kept on going downwind, he probably had dinner at Dukes.

7.1? 130 liters?

Now I KNOW we aren't in the same sport. But hey, if you "got off" (sorry DaBull, just can't seem to keep it PG13), then it's all good! Laughing

Nealpar - don't go PG13 on us. Not now. Please
Your "head" comment was a classic. Very funny. Sorry Laci.

Any type of sailing is good. No matter what the conditions or gear.
It's exercise and better than doing chores
I think a setup like that should be called boredsailing rather than windsurfing.
We actually had a fun time despite the Barney conditions Laughing

P.S. The water was too cold to "get off" Yes, they do shrink Elaine Very Happy

I think you forgot an adjective between the words "real" and "men". Wink

Hi jtsb,

On Friday I was heading south to PV for my 40th year HS reunion, but I couldn't refuse an outrageous full tilt session at C Street. I sailed nicely powered on my 4.2 and a little 7'10" OO. Not often that we get such a strong clearing wind without the nasty brown runoff. An extra special treat. You know that Glenn Dubock was shooting pics?

I'm glad somebody else here on this thread ended up snagging such a great C Street session. I bet you're glad you bailed IV in favor of C Street. IV just isn't as interesting without a decent swell. I usually find it's much better to sail Bacara when there is no real swell. If you haven't sailed there, you might want to give it a go. It's only west a mile or two, and it lacks the dense kelp beds of IV.

If I recollect correctly, weren't you sailing with friend on the trip? I was old guy parked next to Eddy in the white Chevy van. Next time I see you guys, we'll have to share a beer or two, especially if the day was as fun as Friday.

Does anybody (or is it just women) NOTICE that men turn everything into a PISSING CONTEST?

How tiring it must be to always try to "one up" the other. No wonder men have a shorter lifespan.

Nealpar. You crack me up with your observations.
Actually, when I was in grade school, "the boys" had a real pissing contest.
In the bathroom, there were about 6 urinals in a row, the type that go all the way to the floor and they had contests to see how many rows you can piss on in one session, running back and forth and peeing. I sure people outside in the hall were wondering what all the loud counting and shouting was about, but heck, boys will be boys. It's an anatomy thing. I guess as we "mature" it becomes a verbal thing since you can't, well anyway, we'll leave it at that. It's all in good fun. The one thing I can say about men is that we don't hold a grudge too long. We may verbally abuse each other and occasionally take a swipe but we can get over it in due time. Now for women, that doesn't hold very true. That inside tape recorder, which is now the digital version, has enough memory capacity for about 100 years, and it never gets erased. Work on that one and get back to me Laughing

P.S. I would agree that if women ruled the world, we wouldn't have wars and men would become subservient slaves, just like in the Amazon Women movie. Those women were hot though! Very Happy
