I was making fun of the person who claimed to have "sailed" on a 4.7. 6.0 to 7.5 was the call and even they were standing around too much. We waited 5 hours for it to get better than slalom conditions and it never did. If they were on a 5 or smaller they were the size of Fred Noble and on a floating sidewalk. It SUCKED!
A lot of people should be thankful they were holding back a LOT of water so the current was minimal. It could have been a record breaking day for the "Walk of Shame". |

The real deal arrived Monday morning at Home Valley. Really, really windy... full throttle 4.2 conditions (could have opted for a 3.7 in fact) for 3 sweet, mind altering hours.... super compressed air and the nicest swell / ramp combo I've EVER seen on an east wind day at HV. It was all done by 11AM. Then wind moved on down to Stevenson where it was 5.2 - 6.0 conditions again... about the same as Sunday. |

WMP ---- Shhhhhhh! HV is supposed to be one of the little secrets of the Washington side. Let geezers and chair surfers set up at Bob's when the wind blows backwards! (to geezers - in fun, I am a geez card carrier) |

Long time ago I figured out rhyme & reason on how to earn karma bonus points from the wind gods... freely give away my secret spot. Nobody will ever show up anyhow, cause humans are creatures of habit... they will only congregate where everyone else congregates. They know for a FACT that I don't know what I'm talking about because the wind NEVER blows at Home Valley.... and the swell ALWAYS sucks.
It's a win-win for me every time. |
