This is just an update to let you know we are have lost our Ninigret, RI sensor location and we are looking for a new location with power, telephone and clean access to the wind. As soon as we find a location we will have a crew doing the installation. If anyone knows of a good site please let us know.

Lavin's Landing Marina in Charlestown is on the north side of Ninigret Pond. It would give great readings from West, South, East. From the north, I'm not sure what happens as the wind comes down the hill.
Also the Quonoquontaug "Yacht Club", it's on Quonnie pond, which is the next salt pond to the west of Ninigret, but it's at the east end of that pond, so may mimic conditions at the east end of Ninigret, it's about a mile or less from Ninigret. It's just a little neighborhood/association marina, but they call it a yacht club.
My vote would be for the Lavin's Landing Marina. Right on Ninigret, over on the side that gets the best breezes in SW summer wind. Exposed to all the directions, but again don't know what happens in north wind. |
