I was anticipating that it was going to blow, and saw that it actually did for two days.. but couldn't get there. This is a bit of a test reply, i typed a long response to sailing in jacksonville area, and it never got posted. The short version is that small gear sailing in the jacksonville area can happen often, even summer sessions, with the last two days as an example. Best wishes, john in jupiter.

Thanks for all the feedback from the North Florida crew. It sure helps when moving across the country to get a little local feedback before you pull the trigger.

Some chide Floridian windsurfers for their not-always perfect conditions, but I tell you what -- it seems pretty good to me. And, I'd give my left nut for the SF Bay water temp to be as warm year-round as your gorgeous FL water.

Yeah, SF Bay ain't freezing, but *I* can tell the difference... Wink

Uh, well...I used to sail in winter in St Augustine when the air temp was 38, and the water was 50 something.

Now, further south you may have a point.
