Wow, it's true.
I was looking for gorge WS vids on U Tube, and I came across an actual video of Darcy getting harrased by a bunch of GEEZERS. What a swarmy bunch, but you have to like how she puts it to them in no uncertain terms...

True, but you have to come out of the water eventually, and when I cross the road and look at what's slithering-on-down to loiter by the shitters it reminds me of the day the graveyard got flooded in my home town.
And why is everybody frowning? Just non-stop frowning on the water, in the lots and even in front of said shitters? Why, if you have 'the sport’ or ‘the youth’ or whatever? Every time some old wart is on my six trying to eff with me he always has this stupid frown on his face. Smile old dudes! Your still out there, trying to show us up!
BTW: You 'are' a fox DS (not your real first name). Just make sure you keep using the '45', a good helmet, and rubbers, or before long it will be 'you' being seen as a 'windbag' or 'wet bulb'.

yeah, yeah... needs to be a new rule at the Hatch that ya gotta wear that Barbie & Ken smile like they all got at the Event Site. Hey.... this IS a pageant after all, isn't it? Change your outlook. Maybe with your attitude, you're too standoffish and you're missing an opportunity to meet and connect with some awesome people- no matter what their age. When I was 27, it was a 62 year old who convinced me to take up windsurfing. That was 20 years ago. change your attitude. You'll have a lot more fun.

Actually, it is even worse at the Event Site! Look around! Honestly, if I'm gonna be that miserable when I come out of the water 50 odd years from now, I'm gonna give up this sport now! (Much to the delight of many, you are thinking).
It's the same in Maui. Look around Kanaha and other 'intermediate' areas.
Look at the retired windsurfers living there.
Maybe it's the sport of windsurfing, or not enjoying owning the earth, but every old old windsurfer dude I see is just miserable looking, and hitting on young women (or men) goes with the territory.

For anybody interested, we have compiled a short video of old windsurfers leering, doing Viagra in the parking lot, making rude one liners in front of the toilets, and poking tents (in many cases, around people trying to waterstart). It is a 30 second collage, and shows (among other things) children in the water, feces (in wetsuits), etc.
Email me here for a copy of ‘LOCAL_GREYS_GONE_WILD_V. MPG’ (all the individuals are local heroes +50, except one Australian guy, and should probably know better at that age, and also know how to educate by example).

PS We have also forwarded this video to the Port Authority.

I sail regularly at several sites in the Gorge and rarely experience any of the bad attitudes that are alluded to here with the exception of the egos of the "I want to be seen crowd" in the corridor. Everyone that I sail with comes to the river because they love sailing and seeing good friends.
Darcy, just enjoy being on the water; you can find some young stud somewhere else. Heck maybe you'll find a non windsurfing guy and introduce him to a wonderful sport.
If you are offended because healthy older me find you attractive, get over it.
If you respect and treat older men as you would like to be treated, maybe when you're 50, experiencing menopause, and showing your age much faster than the men in your age group, the men might even respect you for who you are rather than dump you for a young hot 20 year old.
