If you had it with the spur yesterday, you would really have had it today. Of course I'm sure it could be said about anywhere today. Wind suckered me out on a 4.5 and I was loaded for 20 minutes, then as it clocked more to the west, it got streaky. With the overcast, I was thinking if it were January I would have been stoked, but July, fuhgeddaboudit.

I sailed PI yesterday. Wind was west, which I didn't notice until I got in the water. At that direction, Marina Bay is a much better launch. Still it was nice, 5.0 powered up for a few hours. When the wind is west, you don't get those nice ramps, and if you launch from PI, it's a bitch getting up to Brookes Island. So I kinda blew it. On a west wind like that, when you launch at MB, two tacks and you can sail all the way to the Berkeley Pier. That's where you find the swell.

It was just fine, as long as you launched at the farthest west site - the kid park at the end of Marina Bay. Today the place to be was Benecia - some of the best 5.3 sailing I've had in a long time.
