Hi,

My buddies and I have significant others that want to try out the sport. I am wondering if anyone has a newer (super wide style) beginner board that they would let us borrow or rent for a weekend or two. Would also consider purchasing if price is comparable to current rental rates. Will be using the board @ the Access on weekends.

Hey Brad. I have a Mikes Lab 95 with a cutoff race fin that I used to teach a 17 year old to sail on. It's super easy to balance on and uphaul. Doesn't have the soft rubber deck tho. If you're interested, send me a private message with your phone and I'll call. I will probably be at the Access this weekend some time. I don't normally carry it, but if you want it I will. I would like to sell it (cheap) so I don't have to store it anymore.

Steve

Hi Brad. If you're still looking for beginner wide style boards, I have a 2003 Hifly Matrix 143L, 78cm width, fully retractable dagger boards. Ideal for lighter sailors. You can rent or buy it. Send me a private message if interested.

You should be able to rent one from Kite Wind Surf in Alameda or Helm in San Mateo. Jason Voss also has a couple beginner boards that you may be able to rent if he's not teaching newbies.
