Has anyone tried sailing the south coast of Maui, past La Perouse Bay towards Kaupo Gap (Route 31, which I heard is closed near Hana due to the 2006 earthquake, worries of rock slides.). Looks as though this could be the windiest part of the island, but also the most remote. I am note sure there is any access.

You would probably never be seen again if you attepted that. Winds blow offshore most of the time. Extremely gusty. No one there to rescue you, very barren, rocky shoreline. If you were lucky some fisherman would call the coast guard before the sun set.

hmmm, never be seen again? I wonder if we can play it up as a great kiting spot? Great kiting with increased danger! It might work.

Nasty, this one.
Besides, this won't work. Higher cull rates often improve the type. Smile
